Long Distance calls with Phone Systems
So let’s say a line has long distance on VOIP Phone Systems. You can actually program in the PBX to say that only certain stations or telephones are allowed to call out and to use that particular line to make long distance calls. That’s going to get into something that’s much more complicated, but basically to bring this back, so to make sure you guys understand what’s going on because we’re going to have a lot of classes in this. The next class we’re going to have is going to be about call routing. So in this class we’ll try to keep it a little more simple.
The big thing is these trunk lines, like I say, every single trunk line is one incoming or one outgoing call. One call. So if you want four calls to happen at one time , you have to have four trunk lines. From the central offices perspective, you know, if you want four lines and people be able to call, so you have a main phone number and then you have these three other trunk, you set up something called a hunt group.
